Designed to help the Soviet Union attain air superiority, the MiG-29 fighter was first flown on October 6th, 1977. The MiG-29, known as the "Fulcrum," has a high-mounted bubble canopy and twin jet engines with diagonal-shaped air intakes and large exhausts. Its tapered, swept-back wings and boom-mounted tail fins give it its classic look. Armed with medium and short-range missiles and unguided weapons for ground and sea-surface targets, the MiG-29's sight is a helmet-mounted system-the pilot chooses his targets by looking at them. Even today the Fulcrum remains a potent adversary, and will remain in service for at least another decade.

Inside The Cockpit - MiG-29 'Fulcrum' (9.12) (17:22)
The MiG-29 is part of the last Soviet jet fighter developments during the Cold War. Used also by East Germany, the 9.12 model eventually became part of the re-unified German Luftwaffe in an ironic twist of fate. The MiG-29 contiuned to be developed by Russia and became the 'father' of the more recent types in use. - Museum Visit the museum: https://mhm-gatow.de/en/ [Notice: Check the website for up-to-date information on access to the museum] - Support Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/join/MilAvHistory Channel Memberships: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmpahmxWXajV0-tuMMzSzAg/join PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/BismarckYT - Social Media Twitter: https://twitter.com/MilAvHistory Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/milaviationhistory/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MilitaryAviationHistory/ - Sources AirForces Monthly, November 2000, Re-unified Fulcrums Gorden Yefim, Mikoyan MiG - 29, Midland Publishing: 2017 Piotr Butowski & Jay Miller, OKB MiG, Midland Counties Publication: 1991 Luftwaffenmaterialkommando GAF T.O. 1F-MIG29-1, Flight Manual MIG-29, Change 4 - 20 September 2001 Aviatia.net, MiG-29 Upgrade Migflug.com, German Luftwaffe and the MiG-29 Fulcrum Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG, migavia.ru -Audio Music and Sfx from Epidemic Sound #insidethecockpit #mig29 #militaryaviationhistory

  1. "Ghost of Kyiv" MiG-29 5 Star Review

Posted by on 1st Feb 2024

I'm the grateful collector in having a dozen-plus of the Hobby Master (HM) MiG-29 die-cast models in my collection. They are all great looking models with their own special schemes, but this one is really special. It sports a Digital Camo Paint Scheme representing the "Ghost of Kyiv" that simply "Rocks the MiG-29" with the Ukrainian Air Force. Seeing the model in person as soon as I opened the box was spectacular, and it exceeded all my expectations!

Aiken's Airplanes have been doing a superb job for many years in supplying collectors and the collectorate, with so many different types of die-cast models. Well wishes to Dave and his staff, and thanks for all they do in getting it right from start to delivery, of what collectors are looking to buy!
