Historical:
In June 1943, future-President George H. W. Bush was commissioned as the youngest naval aviator at the time. Later, while flying a TBM with VT-51 (from the USS San Jacinto (CVL-30)), his Avenger was shot down on 2 September 1944 over the Pacific island of Chichi Jima. However, he released his payload and hit the radio tower target before being forced to bail out over water. Both of his crewmates died. He was rescued at sea by the American submarine USS Finback (SS-230). He later received the Distinguished Flying Cross.

This is by far one of the most detailed pre-made and painted 1:18 scale aircraft out there. It’d sure be awesome if Flight Wing made more aircraft. Well done!

This is a very well done rendition of George H.W. Bush's plane.
It makes a great display piece and affords the opportunity to have a conversation about the history it represents.

It was easy to assemble but the instructions were not very clear.The details of the plane were good. I know this airplane as it was the only plane on my ship- the USS Sicily CVE-118.

I cannot review yet...it's still in the box for Christmas! LOVE your 1:18 scale models! Why are you phasing them out? I want more 1:18 scale models!!!

Just as good if not better, as the "21st Century Toys １/18 TBF-1 AVENGER" being sold for between $500 and $600 out there. At this price and free shipping it was truly a bargain. Most are charging $40 for shipping.
I do have the North Atlantic TBF, from 21st Century, so I can compare them. I swear they came out of the same factory.

1/18 scale really brings out the detail in this beautifully painted Avenger. Impressive display after easy minimal assembly.

Very nicely finished model. Paint finish markings and subtle weathering is very well done. Makes for an impressive display.

The detail on this TBF Avenger is absolutely amazing and it’s extra special since it was flown by former President George Bush. Love it!

I cannot rate the final product as it is still in its box. It is to be a present to a family member. Taking a quick peek through the plastic wrap it seems as though it will be a MOST impressive piece at almost 3 ft. wide.
I WILL say the shipping was lightning fast !! It arrived in just a couple of days; so fast I was shocked to see it at my door. Certainly willing to come back to Aikens again for future shopping.
