Historic:

The Henschel Hs 126 WOW108 was a Luftwaffe two seat reconnaissance and observation aircraft derived from the Henschel Hs 122. The Hs 126 first entered service in 1938 after operational evaluation by the legion Condor in the Spanish Civil War. Early on in the war the Hs 126 equipped several Luftwaffe reconnaissance units but was eventually replaced in this role by the Fieseler Storch and the Fw 189 “Flying Eye”. On 12th September 1943 Henschel 126’s were used in arguably their most famous role to tow 10 x DFS 230 gliders to the Gran Sasso, in a completely successful rescue bid to liberate Mussolini, an operation which left the world totally taken aback for its audacity. This model is a high wing parasol type like our Lysander and is such very difficult to make, for this reason we have only made 10 models in this release.
