"KNIGHTS OF THE SKIES" COLLECTION

Historical:

The Fokker D.VII was a German World War I fighter aircraft designed by Reinhold Platz of the Fokker-Flugzeugwerke. Germany produced around 3,300 D.VII aircraft in the second half of 1918. In service with the Luftstreitkräfte, the D.VII quickly proved itself to be a formidable aircraft. The Armistice ending the war specifically required Germany to surrender all D.VIIs to the Allies.

Stand Sold Separately.

About Carl Degelow:

Carl Degelow (5 January 1891 – 9 November 1970) Pour le Merite, Royal House Order of Hohenzollern, Iron Cross, was a German fighter pilot during World War I. He was credited with 30 victories, and was the last person to win the military Pour le Merite. The fuselage of Carl Degelow’s early production Albatros built Fokker DVII features the white stag logo of “Dr. Lahmann’s Sanatorium” in Dresden, where Degelow had spent time recuperating from an arm wound he received in 1915 while serving in the infantry. To find out more about Carl Degelow, the book “BLACK FOKKER LEADER” by Peter Kilduff, is highly recommended.

  1. Does it get better than this? 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Jan 2020

I'll answer my own question. It doesn't get any better than this. I am amazed at the level of detail, the carefully applied paint, the accuracy of design, &, perhaps most of all, by the subtle weathering. If this model were blown up to full size, it would be indistinguishable from the real thing. Amazing.

  2. Jaw-droppingly Impressive! 5 Star Review

This model is about as close to perfection as it gets. I agree wholeheartedly with the other reviewer. At this price it is a steal. I kid you not..

  3. Finest prebuilt WW1 model airplane model you can buy 5 Star Review

Posted by on 13th Feb 2017

I recently received my John Jenkins Designs Carl Degelow Fokker DVII aircraft. I have begun following this company as their World War One figures, and equipment has been looking to me as very very well researched and executed. I purchased the Frank Luke Spad XIII and found it to be outstanding. This has me hooked on these aircraft models. The new Degelow DVII is a step even higher in quality accuracy and finesse over the SPAD! Keeping the pace of improvement and innovation on these models at a increase. I'm not Fokker DVII expert, but from what I can tell in research in known volumes, this model in nearly perfect. Jenkins design has really put a lot of attention in detail, and accuracy into a model of a plane flown by a 30 victory ace, who lived into the 1970's and described his plane very well. the markings are correct, the lozenge camouflage wings are superb. all the control wires, and attachments are replicated in complete and scale fashion. the engine is visible and represented accurately, as are the panel details for this aircraft. there is even some moderate weathering, cockpit gauges, and deflection trays for the two Spandau machine guns. this is the finest prebuilt model of any World War One model i've seen at any price. but particularly at this price!!! Get one of these, any one of these Jenkins Designs aircraft! you WILL NOT be disappointed.
