The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, variable-sweep wing aircraft. The F-14 was the United States Navy's primary maritime air superiority fighter, fleet defense interceptor and tactical reconnaissance platform from 1974 to 2006. It later performed precision strike missions once it was integrated with the Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night LANTIRN system. The F-14 was developed after the collapse of the F-111B project, and was the first of the American teen-series fighters which were designed incorporating the experience of air combat against MiGs during the Vietnam War. Fighter Squadron 84 (VF-84) was an aviation unit of the United States Navy active from 1955 to 1995. The squadron was nicknamed the Jolly Rogers and was based at NAS Oceana.

There were so many cool aircraft models to choose from on here, but I am glad I chose this one first. It is a great model with superb detail, and a fine model of a great Navy plane. This is sturdy, and a great price for the high quality.

The best and largest aircraft model that I've ever bought. Im still debating on where to display it because its so big and takes up alot of space!!!!!

In a word Awesome. I've been looking for a large scale F14 and I'm glad I found this. Nice detail. Just looks cool. I haven't fully extended the landing gear yet. Like other reviews on this plane they seem a little fragile. My plan is to hang it from the ceiling anyway so not a big deal for me. Nice detail in the cockpit. I would like to see pilots for this, hopefully someone will put some out. Again, awesome!

These are military aircraft models for men; perfectly accurate and perfectly built. These are sleek, detailed and mounted really great. The price is really good for how good the models are, and there are so many to choose from! Great for collectors!
