Soviet Air Force 1951. The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 was a jet fighter developed for the USSR by Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich. The MiG-15 was one of the first successful swept-wing jet fighters, and it achieved fame in the skies over Korea, where early in the war, it outclassed all enemy fighters.

As a child, I always wanted the Aurora model of the Mig-15 but never got around to it. I visited the Wright-Patterson Airforce Flight Museum many years later and saw a "real" Mig-15. That was in 1975. The image on the model box in addition to the thrill of seeing it in person left a deep impression. The Franklin Mint model of the Soviet Air Force just put the frosting on the cake. The Mig-15 model is so true to the prototype. Even the "weird" blue cockpit and the interior of the landing gear apparatus are based in reality. I'm sure there those who might find some little fault(s). I am not one of them. In short, this reproduction is a dream come true.
