Air Command: Is a fairly new line of 1:72 scale die-cast replicas that are very similar to the Franklin Mint/Armour 1:48 scale collection, however they are a bit smaller at 1:72 scale. They are designed and engineered by the craftsman that originated the Armour Collection in the late nineties! Check them out at: Air Command Aircraft 1:72
Franklin Mint/Armour Collection: is divided into three separate pages: Franklin Mint/Armour Collection 1:48 Scale, Franklin Mint/Armour 1:100 Jets and Franklin Mint/Armour 1:100 Props This is our premiere line of limited edition die-cast aircraft! The Franklin Mint (bought the Armour Collection from Italian producer, CDC in Milan late 2001) produces an impressive line of authentic military aircraft, incredible tooling/detail, accurate scaling and by far the leader in terms of future production expectations! This collection features a highly detailed line of display aircraft with little moving parts and no banks. Be sure to check out these beautiful replicas in 1:48 scale and 1:100 scale!
Corgi: Corgi is divided in to five separate catalog pages: Corgi 1:72 Scale, Corgi 1:144 Scale , Corgi Armor 1:50 Scale, Corgi Showcase and Corgi 1:32 Scale!! It is also another top of the line, established die-cast company known for meticulous detail and quality in their models and presentation! They offer a line of limited edition military aircraft in a 1:72 scale (Battle of Britain and Flying Aces) and a 1:144 scale (Bombers and Transport category aircraft) This collection features a gear up or gear down choice, limited moving parts and no banks.
Dragon Wings: Dragon Wings produces a very high quality 1:72 scale line of die-cast aircraft and armor. They also produce a line of "pilot" action figures that are 1:6 scale. You may choose between two catalog pages, Dragon Wings Warbird Series and Dragon Wings Pilots and Armor
Gearbox: Gearbox Military Aircraft and Gearbox Promotional Aircraft is another competitor that has produced a nice line of both military and classic aircraft! This collection features a "hidden collectors coin bank" and more liberal moving parts! After a great start, they have slowed in recent times with new model production. We hope to see a re-awakening in the near future!
Marushin: Marushin Aircraft is a premere line of mostly Japanese models made in Japan. They come as "finished kits" that only require 30 minutes to an hour of assembly. Marushin produces a very high quality line of mostly Japanese aircraft and is adding new planes each year! Features include rotating props, retractable gear on some Zeros, display stand and no banks.
Model Power: Model Power Postage Stamp Series is our newest addition which includes more than 90 different airframes in an impressively detailed die-cast replica! All replicas are of historical military aircraft including all nations and a combination of fighters, bombers and transports! The scales range from 1:63 to 1:280.
Racing Champions/Ertl: Racing Champions bought out Ertl Collectibles in 1999 and have not aggressively pressed forward with new aircraft productions as hoped. They were once the premiere aircraft producer with the DC-3 and Tri-Motor aircraft. They still produce the annual "Wings of Texaco" series, however and appear to be retooling for more aircraft soon! Features include most with collector bank and others without, some moving parts and a few with collectors banks.
Spec Cast: Spec Cast Military Aircraft and Spec Cast Promotional Aircraft is also an aggressive die-cast airplane producer! Spec Cast aggressively produces both military as well as promotional aircraft (Exxon, John Deere, etc). They're productions are typically the most limited productions available! Some as low as "504" total pieces produced! They are the granddaddy of the die-cast companies and produce the best pad printed graphics of any die-cast company! Features include collector hidden bank in most and moving parts (gear, prop, wheels canopy) on most!
Yat Ming: Yat Ming Aircraft is an inexpensive line of military aircraft direct from China that is low in price but offers a lot of value for $19.95! Even though it is listed under "limited edition" die-cast metal aircraft, it is not actually a limited edition as are the others. Features include retractable gear, rotating prop, pilot and display stand.
MAHOGANY DESKTOP MODELS (BOTH AIRCRAFT AND SHIPS)
** Our "hand carved" MAHOGANY AIRCRAFT are the best "wooden" replicas that we have found anywhere! The selection features over "400" different aircraft giving the collector a vast array of planes to choose from. These "desktop" models range in scale from 1:24 to 1:72. Most are either 1:24, 1:32 or 1:48. These models are hand carved in the Philippines! Working from exact blueprints, the majority of these replicas are sculpted by master craftsmen, from select specially treated mahogany wood. The models are then passed through several stages of sanding and priming, detailed and painted with the correct historical markings by talented artists and then covered with several coats of clear lacquer. This true work of art is made even more impressive with the mahogany display base supplied with each model! There are "nine" page listings for the mahogany aircraft. All nine links can be found at the bottom of each page in our web site. Those nine links are:
