SMITH & WESSON STEARMAN BI-PLANE
Manufactured in 1997, this Liberty Classics by Spec Cast offers the removable pilot canopy and engine cowl for coin insertion and removal. The picture does not display the deep royal blue color well at all. Measures 11 inches in wing span and 8 inches long.
Historical Note: One of the most poplar airplanes introduced in aviation history was the Stearman Bi-Plane. Founded by Lloyd Stearman in 1927, the Stearman Aircraft Company began in earnest to develop the Bi-Plane out of Venice,California. The early 1930's saw a remarkable increase in aviation enthusiasm due to "Wing Walking" and "Barnstorming" using the popular Stearman Bi-Plane.
