U.S.AIR FORCE BEECHCRAFT "TWIN BEECH" TRANSPORT

#2  IN THE KOREAN WAR SERIES

Spec Cast announces the "Korean War Aircraft Series" for 2001! This series will include "7" aircraft; four F-86 Saber Jets, one Corsair, one P-51 Mustang and one Twin Beech from the Korean War Theatre. Approximately 2500 of each plane will be produced.

The USAF Twin Beech replica featured here measures approx. 12 inches in wing span. It also features a collectors coin bank. Approximate scale is 1:45 scale.

Historical Note:    Twin Beech 44-87286 was one of a 1944 U.S. Air Forces order for 644 Beechcraft UC-45F-BH Expeditors.  In 1947, these planes became a part of the new United States Air Force.  The USAF underwent its first combat operations during the Korean War, and the versatile Twin Beech played a role in that theater.  Used mainly as a transport and liaison aircraft, the Twin Beech was a popular as a "flying staff car" for general and staff officers of the USAF. Great numbers of the "bugmasher" were rebuilt during their careers, allowing them to serve into the 1960's.
