*    In 1998, Spec Cast announced the first ever WW II "Classic Fighter Plane Series" collection due for release in a staggered format over the course of 1999. Approximately 2500 of each were made of each and represent a specific aircraft that played a historical role in WW II. This is one collection that collectors will want to add to their collections!

#7, a "Special Addition" in the Classic Fighter Plane Series from Spec Cast, this sharp looking F4U Corsair is a limited edition (approximately 2500 total made), metal die-cast replica measuring over 10 inches in wing span and features rotating prop and wheels, , baked enamel paint finish, hidden bank access and authentic graphics!

Historical Note:    " Maj. Gregory Boyington, USMC, commanding VMF-214 (the "Black Sheep" squadron):   "white 86" was one of a number of different Corsairs he flew before being shot down and captured by the Japanese, during which time he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor".
