RICHARD BONG'S "MARGE" P-38 LIGHTNING 3rd in the MAS Series Spec Cast has just announced their second World War II Series! This Series is officially called the "Classic WWII Military Airplane Series". It features (3) types of aircraft and a total of (8) planes in the Series. Total numbers produced are projected to run approximately 2500 for each aircraft. Release dates are staggered beginning January 1, 2000 through December 1, 2000. The featured aircraft here, is the P-38 Lightning as flown by Richard Bong, known as Richard Bong's "Marge"! Richard Bong shot down more enemy planes than any other U.S. pilot in history! For this record he earned the moniker "Aces of Aces" and was awarded the Medal of Honor! Assigned to the Pacific theater in 1942, Bong began flying combat missions in his P-38 fighter as a 21 year old second lieutenant. Less than a year later, he had shot down 21 Japanese planes. Soon after he broke the record of 26 kills! Eventually, Bong shot down a total of 40 Japanese aircraft! This model replica of Bong's P-38 is a metal die-cast with accurate graphics and markings.
