WINGS OVER HOUSTON, 7TH IN A SERIES, P-51 MUSTANG
The "Wings Over Houston Air Show" has been the source of a series of limited edition die-cast airplanes celebrating the annual air show at Ellington Field in Houston, Texas for six years now, starting with the October air show in 1994. Air show officials select an aircraft each year that has served in a historical military role in the past. This last Oct 99, they chose to do a "twin set" numbering them #6 and #7. The numbering is underneath the horizontal stab of the P-51. Capt Roscoe C. Brown and Col. Charles McGee both were at the air show (Ellington Field) and were honored at the ceremonies.
This P-51 Mustang was piloted by Col. Charles McGee (USAF Retired) of the Tuskegee Airman 100th Fighter Squadron and affectionately known as the "Kitten". It is labeled underneath as #7 in the series.
This authentically scaled replica, measures approx. 10 to 11 inches in wing span! It comes in a box, with a "sleeve" over the box that is a very sharp, colorful history of the Tuskegee Airmen, the official logo stamp of the Wings Over Houston Air show and picture of the "Kitten" P-51 airplane. A great looking limited edition metal die-cast airplane with a production total of 600 airplanes!
