Major "Buck" Rogers was known as a first rate CO of the 392nd Fs, and was popular with his sqaudron. On August 25, 1944, he led his 392nd squadron on a strafing mission into a German airfield near Dijon, France. This very successful strafing run destroyed five JU52/3ms aircraft on the ground!
