US AIRFORCE F-16 50TH ANNIVERSARY Spec Cast presents this 50th Anniversary Lockheed F-16 "Fighting Falcon" , limited edition, collector series coin bank. Folks, I wasn't sure how I was going to like this airplane as I have been more focused on Bi-Planes and older propeller types including war birds. I was and am very impressed with this production and plan to purchase more. First of all, the quality of production is impressive as well as the amount of attention to detail. It is a very heavy airplane. Specific features include retractable main and nose landing gear, attachable/detachable bombs and rockets, hidden coin slot underneath the pilot canopy and removable after-burner for coin removal . Underneath the horizontal stab is stamped "1 of 2500". Measures 12 inches long by 8 inches wing span. Historical Note: Light enough to reach twice the speed of sound with a single jet engine, this aircraft has both the strength to carry a complete arsenal of weaponry and the maneuverability to fly rings around most anything else in the sky. This smaller, deadlier plane can turn so abruptly, the G-force can knock the pilot unconscious. To avoid this, it was designed so that the pilot, using specially equipped computer controls, basically flies the F-16 while lying down. Named the "Fighting Falcon" in July of 1980, the F-16 officially attained initial operational capability - combat ready status- with the United States Air Force in October of that year. Item Number: AA46007 Price: $49.95
