This limited edition metal die-cast replica measures approx. 13 inches in wing span! Has rotating prop and wheels! Great detail and graphics! Officially licensed by American Airlines! Historical Note: American Airways, Inc. was formed in 1930. All of the operating transport subsidiaries(Universal, Colonial, Southern and Interstate) came directly under control of American Airways, except Embry-Riddle. American Airways was then controlled by AVCO. Eventually, all of the subsidiary companies were dissolved, leaving AVCO the sole owner of American Airways. The divisions and bases of American were: Universal Aviation; St Louis; Colonial, Newark; Southern Air Transport, Fort Worth; and Aviation Corporation, the main holding company in New York. Fredrick Coburn was appointed President of American Airways and he began 6to simplify routes and operations of American Airways. Many divisions (flying schools, aircraft sales divisions, and air taxiing) were dissolved. It was thought that these would not be good sources of revenue. American Airways routes at this time did not go any further west than El Paso. Item Number: AA27018 SOLD OUT - SORRY! |
