During the Battle of Britain, the Hurricane shot down more enemy aircraft than all other British planes combined. Powered by Rolls-Royce engines, this 350 mph RAF fighter was retired in 1944 after destroying 1,500+ German aircraft. The MKII version had 8 machine guns and two cannons. Hurricanes had a fabric skin and didn’t explode upon contact!
