Prague-Ruzyn, 1945. The Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe (German for Swallow) was the world's first operational turbojet fighter aircraft. It was produced in World War II and saw action starting in 1944 as a multi-role fighter/bomber/reconnaissance/interceptor warplane for the Luftwaffe. German pilots nicknamed it the Sturmvogel (Stormbird), while the Allies called it the Turbo. The Me 262 had a negligible impact on the course of the war due to its late introduction, with 509 claimed Allied kills (although higher claims are sometimes made) against the loss of more than 100 Me 262s.

  1. Best ME-262, 1:72 diecast replica currently on the market 4 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Oct 2021

Corgi certainly knows how to create a great looking replica. Even their more modest options, like this one here, are better quality than competitors at similar price. The paint is matte and non reflective. The lines are very clean and not “painted on” like some other models. The only real fault is that it is missing the pilot in the cockpit and the swastika on the tail. But at this price point, maybeI’m just being nit picky.
