U.S. COAST GUARD 1938 GRUMMAN GOOSE
This 1938 U.S. Coast Guard Grumman Goose is another fine quality Gearbox collectible with limited edition production. Features include attached key, working propeller, hidden coin slot, heavy die cast metal, quality tampo graphics and rotating rubber wheels. Measures approx. 11.5 inches wingspan by 9.5 inches in length.
Historical Note: The eight-seat Grumman Amphibian, commonly known as the Goose, flew for the first time in 1937, and proved outstandingly successful. By 1938, twenty had been delivered with many more on order. Despite its commercial intention, this aircraft saw most of its action in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. Models fitted with anti-icing were used by the Coast Guard in chilly Northern waters.
