1917 SOPWITH PUP BRITISH MILITARY This Gearbox collectible is one of twenty-five hundred. Precision modeling,wood grain propeller, hand painted pilot, heavy die cast metal, quality tampo graphics, custom detailed cowling, detailed instrument panel, nickel-plated steel spring wires and rotating rubber wheels are examples of the detailed design and engineering accomplished with this aircraft. A 1:32 scale airplane, its wing span measures approx. 11 inches by 8 inches in length. Historical Note: Lieutenant Edwin Dunning became the first man to land a plane on the deck of a moving ship at sea on August 2, 1917, flying a Sopwith Pup. Several days later, while attempting to perfect his landings, he tragically lost his life after crashing off the deck of the British ship the HMS Furious.
