SHELL OIL UBF WACO BI-PLANE
Another fine quality Gearbox Collectible with licensing agreements from Shell Oil Company. This Shell Oil UBF Waco Bi-Plane is one of only 1500 made. Features attached key, hidden coin bank, quality tampo graphics, heavy die-cast metal, moveable propeller and rubber wheels that roll easily. Wing span measures approx. 11 inches. Heavy duty casting/construction. This was not a well known release and as a result, is not readily available.
Historical Note: The Waco Corporation was formed in 1929 from the Advance Aircraft Company. By that year, Advance was the largest producer of commercial aircraft in the U.S., with production said to have been greater than that of all other U.S. aircraft manufacturing combined. The UBF Waco was an ideal plane for commercial use as well as pleasure flying. It was said to have been so smooth and steady that it seemed to fly itself.
