This Gearbox collectible is one of twenty five hundred. Precision modeling,wood grain propeller, hand painted pilot, heavy die cast metal, quality tampo graphics, custom detailed cowling, detailed instrument panel and rotating rubber wheels are examples of the detailed design and engineering accomplished with this aircraft.
Historical Note: The first airmail flight in the U.S. took place on May 15, 1918. Later that same year, the U.S. Post Office officially established its airmail service. In order to build its fleet, the Post Office bought many army surplus aircraft. Within the next three years the fleet consisted of 98 planes, half of them Airco DH4's.
