1932 RCA VICTOR MODIFIED STEARMAN This beautiful collectible die cast airplane from Gearbox is one of five thousand and a limited edition issue. Features include heavy die cast metal, hidden coin slot, attached key, moveable propeller, rubber wheels, and quality tampo graphics. This airplane measures approx. 11 inches in wingspan and 8 inches in length. Historical note: The 1930's have been called the golden years of flying. This decade produced what many biplane pilots feel were the best of the flying machines. Of all the old biplanes produced at that time, the Stearman seems to be unanimously favored for its easy handling and simplicity. Many pilots who flew in WW11 learned by flying a Stearman. RCA's famous mascot, Nipper, was an actual dog, born in Bristol, England in 1884. His owner, Francis Barraud, painted "His Masters Voice", the famous image of Nipper listening to the phonograph.
