In 1941, the US Army wanted to develop a small General Purpose (GP) 4 wheel drive vehicle to meet the pressing demand for tough and reliable vehicles with excellent cross-country capabilities. During World War II, the Willy's GP served rolls to prove a valuable tool in bringing then Allied victory. Transit for Soldiers, Light Firearms Carrier, Command Vehicle, Communication Platform, Liaison vehicle and even sometimes as an ambulance: the Willys GP became a cornerstone vehicle platform for the allied victory in World War II.
