This new Wedell Williams Racer "Golden Edition" is from First Gear, a top name in die-cast collectibles! Known primarily for their trucks and classic cars, First Gear decided to produce a  "Shell Historical Air Racing Series" with a total of "five" planes in the series. Historical Note: The 1920's to the mid - 1930's  was known as the "Golden Age of Air Racing". During the Great depression era aircraft builders were enticed to produce race planes. Money was tight and with thousands of dollars of prize money available pure speed was what won the races!
