Signed by Brigadier General Paul W. Tibbets and Captain Theodore “Dutch” Van Kirk. In the darkness of night on August 6, 1945, the Enola Gay prepares for the mission that will end WWII. Paul Tibbets, then a colonel, will pilot the B-29 Superfortress; navigator “Dutch” Van Kirk will keep the big plane on course. Both Tibbets and Van Kirk signed (in pencil) just 200 copies of this stirring image by aviation artist Tony Fachet before Tibbets passed away. Printed on heavyweight archival paper with archival inks, lithograph arrives in a protective tube with a certificate of authenticity.
