SD.KFZ. 164 NASHORN S.PZ.JG.ABT560

The actual model represents a vehicle serving with s.Pz.Jg.Abt.560 during rail transportation from Germany to assembly area for Kursk. It bears an interesting ‘wavy’ camouflage of brown lines, and tactical markings. As an open-topped vehicle, there is a host of detail visible inside the fighting compartment, and details have been faithfully reproduced and painted realistically. To finish it off, it has been given a light weathering to add that extra touch of realism.

About the Nashorn:
Named the “Rhinoceros” (“Nashorn” in German), this 24-ton tracked vehicle was designed in 1942 as a self-propelled anti-tank gun. It mounted the formidable 8.8cm PaK43 gun and served with independent Panzerjäger units. A total of 494 were produced, and they first saw action in the summer of 1943 on the Eastern Front.
