FORWARD MARCH - FIGHTER ACES (Series III)
Canadian-born Johnny Kent joined the RAF in 1935 and was a seasoned fighter and test pilot by the outbreak of WWII. Initially serving with a photo-reconnaissance unit in the first months of the conflict, Kent was transferred as a flight commander to the newly formed No. 303 "Polish" Squadron in August 1940. Kent had made ace by October and was given command of No. 92 Squadron, flying Spitfires that same month. Made a wing leader in August 1941, Kent subsequently filled a series of staff appointments until war's end.
