HISTORICAL NOTE:    This Legends aircraft is a P-47D-10 flown to by Lt. (later Capt.) Fred J "Chris" Christensen Jr. while attached to the 62nd FS / 56th FG. Fred ended the war with 21.5 kills and flew 107 missions. He is currently the highest scoring living U.S. Ace. While later flying P-47D 42-26628 LM-C "Miss Fire" / "Rozzie Geth II" he became famous for downing six enemy in one encounter, a feat equaled in the ETO only by George Preddy.
