Historical Note: Eastern Airlines Inc was formed in 1934 and in December 1936 they began using the 1000hp Douglas DC'3. This example NC18124 was the tenth in the airlines Great Silver Fleet delivered in 1937. In 1953, it was withdrawn fom service and donated to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. It has been on display there since July 1976!
