Historical Information:    A few notes from Frank Dalton (Carousel1 founder/owner) on a unique model:

Long-time owner Doug Champlin is offering the only Fw 190D-13 known to exist for sale for US$5M, but when I sent him a prototype of the model, he said that the model made him have second thoughts about selling it.  By comparison, a P-51 Mustang goes for about $1M

This real airplane is unique because it has a complete history from production to today, and it was flown by Franz Gotz, an ace with 63 kills. who ended the war in command of JG 26, the most elite unit in the Luftwaffe.  I am only aware of two or three other surviving "warbirds" that were actually flown by an ace.

If that weren't enough to make it rare, there is only one other surviving Fw 190D--a Fw 190D-9 version in the Air Force Museum at Dayton, Ohio.

The Germans made about 1,800 Fw 190D's, mostly the D-9 version.  A total of 1,090 D-13's (with engine improvements and a 20mm cannon firing through the propeller hub replacing 2 x 12.9 mm machine guns) were planned, but few were built--probably 17.

Jerry Crandall, artist and expert on Luftwaffe aircraft, assisted us on the markings.  He wrote a book on this one airplane--"Yellow 10, The story of the ultra-rare Fw 190D-13"  There are some irregularities in the markings which faithfully reproduce the real aircraft markings.
