ABOUT AIKEN'S

10PROP0010.JPG (2287 bytes)         Aiken's Airplanes was founded in 1997 as a result of experiences  encountered in collecting for  our own personal collection. We looked in stores every where, called around  and  even surfed the net for hours. What we found was that airplanes in general are terribly under represented in the market place. For example, on a popular auction web site there are numerous subcategories in the collectible category but no aviation/airplane subcategory. When we did locate a source, often their inventory of collectible die- cast airplanes was minimal at best (often one to five different types) and prices were unpredictable - mostly high. We also found that because retailers maintained such small numbers that they really didn't know much about them either.

This enthusiasm has carried over into the die cast collectible airplanes as well (Seems to be working its way down to the next generation. My 2 year old glued to the joystick flying the new Microsoft Flight Sim "Combat" program!)

10prop0002.JPG (3112 bytes)     Our mission here is to rectify the market short comings of the die cast airplanes by offering the largest inventory of airplanes at a competitive or better price while providing first rate service. We are able to do this by keeping overhead very low and specializing  in  airplane collectibles only. We also aim to maintain an info bulletin board updated regularly with various related topics that will enable our customers to make better decisions with their own selections.

It is always fun to meet other airplane enthusiasts and share experiences/tales. We sincerely hope you enjoy collecting these beautiful airplanes as we do and the experiences encountered along the way. Best wishes and please pass your suggestions and comments our way so that we can make steady improvements.           Yours Truly,
