Historical Note:        During World War One the Dutch designer Anthony Fokker developed the synchronised machine gun that allowed a pilot to fire forward through the propeller arc only at times when the bullets would clear the propeller blades. The gun was fitted to Germany's Fokker monoplanes in 1915.
