Historical Note Cont'd:    The Boeing 707-320 civilian variant of the 707 is a stretched version of the turbojet-powered original model.  The 707-320's maiden flight was on January 11, 1958.  It incorporates JT4A-3 turbojets which produce 15,800 lbst each.  The interior of the 707-320 allows seating for up to 189 passengers.  The longer wing could carry more fuel, increasing range by 1,600 miles and allows the it to operate as a transoceanic aircraft.  There were 60 turbojet -320s produced.
