
H-92 SIKORSKY (CH-148)
Historical Note: The H-92 Superhawk Sikorsky is a military version of the Sikorsky. It was used in search and rescue missions and transportation of VIP. In July 2004, the H-92 Superhawk was ordered by the Canadian Forces as the CH-148 Cyclone for its maritime helicopter programme. Twenty-eight H-92 helicopters were ordered and the first was scheduled in entering the service in January 9, 2009 five weeks later its original schedule of November 2008.
In November 2004, the contract was signed. Its mission data management system and systems integration is handled by the General Dynamics Canada. Its maritime surveillance radar are supplied by Telephonics. The APS-143B (V) is multi-mode radar with integrated Mark XIIA IFF.
Its avionics systems together with the integrated cockpit are supplied by Rockwell Collins, while the AN/ALQ-144A (V) 5 for counter measure systems is supplied by BAE Systems. The Radar Warning Receiver and Electronic Support Measure are supplied by Lockheed Martin. The H-92 Superhawk was based on the AN/ALQ-210 built of the United States Navy MH-60R helicopters.
The Sikorsky S-92 is a medium twin-engined helicopter. It is a development of the S-70 Sikorsky, UH-60 Black Hawk and other helicopters.
